Adventures on the road!

Tour was freakin’ amazing!!!!!  Here are some highlights;

Day 1: We kicked our tour off in Lexington at the Green Lantern bar. It was a fantastic show, and so many people came out. We sold out of sweatshirts that night it was crazy! 8″ Betsy rocked it out as usual. Thank you Lexington for always being so supportive. We love you guys. (more…)

Four days from tour!!

We’re less than a week away from tour and we’re super excited! To get ourselves ready we spent the day screen printing new Spooky Qs t-shirts, bags, sweatshirts and stickers. We want to give a very special thanks to our dear friend Paula Zaglul for getting the screen ready for us. We’d also like to thank Krista and Eli for helping us iron all day long!! We love you guys <3

Come out and play this Thursday!

Our first review!!!!

We met Brian at our show at the Jackhammer in Chicago a few weeks ago. He’s written a terribly complimentary review of us on the horrorsociety.com’s website. Thank you Brian!!!

If you can’t tell, I’m really excited. Taken from their website:

“Thats right i did a Q&A!”-Seith

I sat down with Neely Pennington, and talked about every thing from what we are doing in the next year to my feeling about the Lexington music scene.

Read all about it.

Looking for a t-shirt design!!

Alright guys, here’s the deal:

We’re going on our first tour in May from the 21st – 31st. We need t-shirts to sell and do not want to recycle the design from the Winterband shirts.

We need a talented artist to come up with a new logo. We require a single screen print design, you can also choose the color of the t-shirt to compliment your image. The name of our band must be in the design somewhere.

Please send your results to spookyque@gmail.com with no less than a 300 dpi resolution by MARCH 1st!

March 2nd we have a band meeting set up specifically to discuss which logo we will go through with.

Good luck and we look forward to your submissions!!

Katz is back!!

Harvery Katz of Athen’s Boys Choir will be back in Lexington in March and we get to play with him again! For anyone who doesn’t know him already, get to! Here’s a snippet of his bio from his website;

“Katz’s spoken-word is raw, unapologetic, witty, and soulful. As Out Magazine wrote in 2006, “Katz avoids falling into the common spoken-word trap… and instead uses engaging wordplay, razor-sharp wit, and hip-hop rhythms.” He has had the honor of sharing the stage with such artists as Ani Difranco, Indigo Girls, Bitch, The Butchies, Danielle Howle, and Michelle Malone. He has also opened for poets of HBO’s Def Poetry Jam on more than one occasion.”

Spooky Qs featured in new web series

We’re super exicited that several of our songs from the Winterband EP will be featured in the new web series Girl/Girl Scene., and not only that but we have a brief appearance in the premiere episode as well!!

Taken from the Girl/Girl Scene site:
“Based on the lives and loves of four young friends, this series    boldly goes where no other has gone before – between the sheets and into the minds and hearts of unapologetically queer women living in middle America.  But underlying the many shocking and controversial moments is an important drama exploring the intoxicating extremes of modern day life and love. Refreshingly non-judgmental and atypical in its embrace of stereotype, with its sometimes funny, always provocative storylines, Girl/Girl Scene is a vibrant, vital and honest reflection of today’s young lesbian culture.”

This is all very exciting. As soon as we know the release date, we’ll let you know! Oh and did we mention that our very own Jack Cofer stars in the series as Elliot, a transgendered high school student?? Go Jack!!
